Character

A character is a customized avatar for the player while in-game. Once created, the player uses the character to participate and progress through various aspects of the game. The number of characters on an account is limited by the number of slots available for character creation. Characters, representing the players, are the main Protagonists in Izanagi Online.

Creation[edit | edit source]

In order to create a character, players are guided through a four-step character creation process where players determine their characters' basic characteristics: class, gender, physical appearance, starting stats, and unique name. Of these selected characteristics, class, gender, and name are unalterable and final; therefore, choose carefully! Physical appearance can be changed at the cost of gems from the Boutique (currently not implemented) and stats can always be reset using a status reset button.

Character Menu[edit | edit source]

Once created, information about the character can be accessed through the character menu. This menu also allows further customization through the character's choice of equipment and costumes obtained while playing the game. The Character menu also hosts several other functions such as access to the Pneuma control panel, Super Powers, class skills (see class pages), the social control panel, settings, and so on.

Progression[edit | edit source]

Characters advance throughout the game by gaining experience until they reach the maximum level cap (currently 80; however, Japanese servers go up to 90). Experience, EXP, is gained through the following means:

▪ Killing mobs
▪ Defeating bosses
▪ Completing medal criteria
▪ Turning in EXP books (Unexplored_island)

Leveling up[edit | edit source]

When a character levels up, they are fully healed, they gain full LP and EP, and their yellow EXP bar will be reset back to 0.00%. New skills, skill points, and status points are unlocked and higher quality equipment become available at certain levels. Gaining levels is an integral aspect of the game; simply put, player progression in the game is measured by level of character.

Exploring high level areas[edit | edit source]

The game displays a "suggested level" at every loading screen when entering a new map. The game discourages players from bringing characters into areas that significantly above their current levels. Exploring areas containing higher level mobs exposes the character to random attacks from said mobs, increasing the possibility of death.
