Refine/Enhance

From Izanagi Online Wiki

Item Enhancement[edit | edit source]

Refine and Enhance is a dual process for item enhancement (weapon and armor) - it can be accessed through the Repair NPC, and only Uncommon or higher item quality can be refined/enhanced.

What is Refine?[edit | edit source]

Refine
Refined gear is now Enhanceable

Refine is the precedent process that must be completed to enhance an equipment. You can Refine any equipment that is Uncommon or of a higher quality. Additionally, Refining requires Uncommon or higher quality equipments to be used as refine material; and once used, the refine material disappears and refining points is added to the refining gauge.

Refining Gauge[edit | edit source]

Refining Gauge is the measure for the amount of Refining Points. When the item's refining gauge is filled, it becomes refined and enhanceable - having a large Refining Gauge means that it will require more Refining Points for it to be refined.

Refining Gauge affected by:

Item Quality[edit | edit source]

Refining Gauge of higher quality items will always be larger than that of lower quality items.

Ex. A Level 65 [Super Rare] Solemn Pants vs. a Level 65 [Legend] Solemn Pants.
Same item level, enhancement level, equipment type (armor), and subtype(lower body armor), but different in quality which greatly affects Refining Gauge.

Enhancement Level[edit | edit source]

The higher the Enhancement Level, the more Refining Points it takes to fill the Refining Gauge.

Refining Points[edit | edit source]

The amount of refining points given by the refine material or fodder varies depending on the following factors:
(in order of importance)

Fodder Quantity[edit | edit source]

Fodder Quantity.png

Refining allows 6 fodders to be used at a time. The more fodders, the higher refining points and refining fee (each fodder costs 100g).

Fodder Quality[edit | edit source]

Higher quality fodder will yield more refining points.

Ex. A Level 48 [Uncommon] Splendid Leggings vs. Level 48 [Rare] Splendid Pants.
Same item level, enhancement level, equipment type(armor), and subtype(lower body armor), but different in quality - the higher quality giving more refining points.

Fodder Type and Item Type Matching[edit | edit source]

The equipment type can be categorized into 2 groups: armor and weapon.

Matching fodder type with the item type will yield more refining points.

Ex. When enhancing a staff, a weapon type material will provide higher refining points than an armor type material.
Level 48 [Rare] Splendid Pants vs. Level 48 [Rare] Valor Holy Rod.
Same quality, item level, enhancement level, but different in fodder type (armor vs. weapon(staff) - the weapon(staff), which matched the item's type and subtype, giving more refining points.

Fodder Subtype and Item Subtype[edit | edit source]

Subtype can be categorized into 6 groups: sword, hammer, spear, katana, gun, and staff.

Matching fodder subtype with item sub-type will yield more refining points.

Ex. When enhancing a staff, a staff subtype will provide higher refining points than a gun subtype.
Level 49 [Super Rare] Prime Shotshell Gun vs. Level 48 [Super Rare] Prime Ancient Rod.
Same quality, item level, enhancement level, and fodder type(weapon), but different in fodder subtype (gun vs. staff) - the staff, which matched the item's subtype, giving more refining points.

Fodder Level[edit | edit source]

High level fodders provide more refining points, however the gap is minimal.

Ex. When enhancing a staff, a will provide higher refining points than a gun subtype.
Level 49 [Rare] Precision Ancient Rod vs. Level 48 [Rare] Valor Holy Rod.
Same quality, enhancement level, fodder type(weapon) and fodder subtype(staff), but different in fodder level (level 40 vs. level 48) - the staff with higher level giving more refining points.

Where to get Refine Material (Fodder Gear)?[edit | edit source]

Uncommon or higher quality gears obtained from monsters or reward boxes can be used as refine material. Or with the use of GP, players can buy refine material from Material Refine in BWT - Outer Wall Area.

What is Enhance?[edit | edit source]

Enhance

Enhance is the final process of item enhancement which requires enhancement metals. If enhancement is successful, the properties of the item will increase. If the enhancement fails, the item will break.

Success Fail

Effects of Enhancement[edit | edit source]

Successfully enhancing a weapon type will raise its ATK and MATK, while armor types will have an increase in DEF and MDEF.

Success Rate[edit | edit source]

The success rate for enhancing depends on the:

Enhancement degrees ranges from:

Enhancement Level[edit | edit source]

The higher the enhancement level, the lower the success rate

Ex. Enhancing from +3 to +4 will have lower success rate than enhancing from +2 to +3.

Enhancement Metals and Quality[edit | edit source]

The higher quality of enhancement metal used, the higher the success rate.

Enhancement Metals Quantity[edit | edit source]

The more enhancement metals is used, the higher the success. Maximum 3 enhancement metals can be used.

Ex. Enhancing a gear with 3 enhancement ores will have higher success than enhancing with only 1 or 2 ores.

Quality of Item[edit | edit source]

The higher quality of the enhanceable item, lower success rate.

Ex. A Legend item will have lower success rate than a Rare item.

Super Success Hammer and Relief Handkerchief[edit | edit source]

Super Success Hammer and Relief Handkerchief are enhancement materials that can be bought in the cash shop, both of which have dramatic effects on enhancing. Super Success Hammer boosts the success rate of enhancing while Relief Handkerchief prevents the item from breaking if the enhancement fails.
